WHO AM I?
Hello, my name is Seunghoon Han, though among friends and professors I am also known as Chloe. I am a photographer and student at Vanderbilt University, and much of my work resonates with my motherland, Korea. To me, Korea is a fascinating place—its economy grew at an unprecedented pace in less than thirty years, yet it continues to live under the shadow of an imminent threat from its once-allied neighbor, North Korea. Growing up in a country where vitality and looming fear coexist, I have felt compelled to document its essence—its culture, the lingering scars of war, its politics, and, above all, its people. What I capture is only a small glimpse of my world, but it is precisely this glimpse that drives me to continue photographing: to stitch together fragments into a larger visual map of my nation, and in turn, of my own life.
